Thank you for mentioning “The Ramen Girl.” I have never heard of it before. It is available on DVD on Netflix (no streaming), so it is now at the top of my DVD queue, so it should be the next movie I get from them.

“Tampopo” is also available on DVD on Netflix, but not streaming.

Hi Gary,
No, I’ve never heard of that movie! I’ll have a look for it.
I did, however, see The Ramen Girl, which was endearing. I’ve seen a few documentaries about ramen as well – it’s really a very involved and serious art in Japan! And with 21,000 ramen shops in Tokyo alone, ramen is definitely “a thing”. 🙂

Ramen!

Did you ever see the wonderful movie “Tampopo” featuring ramen.
Just a couple of years ago, for the 30th anniversary of its release, it was shown on a big screen at the Gene Siskel Center in Chicago.
