Thanks, Emily! These were all taken with an iPhone – thus the quality isn’t nearly as good as with another camera, but it’s so much easier to get candid shots with a phone than with a big camera, which tends to make people feel shy.

Hi John,
As with many cultures, women tend to keep to themselves, and are rarely out at bars. I wasn’t in Panama long enough to be invited into any homes, which would have been my chance to hang out with them.
There are many native women in the area where I’ve been staying, and their garb is gorgeous. But I was too timid to approach these strangers to ask for photos. Again – much easier when you break bread (or rather, beer) together!
