Plastic seats….that’s the next installation of “cattle class” on budget airlines indeed!

@Eddie – Thanks! I’m glad you see the humour!

That was a very entertaining read.

Today, you only can find wooden seats in the Western World in heritage trains. The leg room of third class rail coaches is better than Aircraft Cattle Class. New suggestion for Ryanair and other budget airlines: plastic benches without armrests in their aircraft and call it Budget Class. The successor of the old wooden third class coaches on rail 🙂

My knee was swing down to the ground and the pain was really unbearable. But luckily I am still able to walk. =) By the way, you’ve got nice blog

The point of the article was to do just that…leave the reader wanting for more. I guess it worked!
This was an experiment in humour, in generating big build-up, then throwing in a twist at the end. Judging by the last two comments, I think I got it bang-on.
….we all want to know what happens on the other side of the curtain, but yet we never know because there’s a big bloody curtain in the way…that’s kind of the idea. (I can’t believe I even have to explain this).
I feel the need to repeat: this was not a how-to article, or something to reveal secrets in life.
And quite frankly there is no secret behind what happens on the other side; it’s just an upscale version of what you get in economy – kind of a let down now, huh??? That’s why I didn’t want to write about it.
Sheesh.

Why would you feel the need to be so secretive (and then defensive to anonymous about it)? How was the experience once you were there?

If you have spent any time at all reading this blog, you’ll find that it’s a collection of stories, adventures, and experiences, not a how-to guide.
If you want to know how to get upgrades, try this article instead:

…and yes – a bad knee really helps. Sorry to disappoint!

I was hoping for some real tips on how to get upgrades, or at least a clever discussion of what goes on on “the other side of the curtain”. But you basically gloss over the most interesting parts of your story, wrapping it up in a rush. So one has to have a bad knee to get an upgrade? Thanks for nothing.
