Hi Josie,
Thank you so much! And yes – the cinnamon rolls were a pretty lovely reward! 😉

Hi Matthew,
Yes, there’s certainly more to the story in terms of my apprenticeship with the medicine, but I’m struggling to write about it because not only is it a very personal journey, but it’s kind of out of the scope of what this site is about. Stay tuned though….I may yet spill the beans!

I give you a TON of credit for this amazing adventure. None of us out here could truly understand what you went through, but your journal entries give a good sense of the discomfort and challenge of it all.
What a fabulous experience and congratulations on coming through with flying colors — and then enjoying well-deserved cinnamon rolls. They must have tasted so decadent.
Josie

Just from reading this, I know there is so much more to the story, and I’m dying to hear it. I would love to do this.

Lombok,
True – it wasn’t quite a month, but for the purposes of my writing, “A month” sounds better than “3.5 weeks”!

Hi Kirk,
Great question! I think it depends on your journey and whether you’ve worked with ayahuasca before, as well as what you’d like to get out of the experience. An extended stay provides a much deeper experience, but if you’re new to plant medicines, a week-long stay is a nice way to dip your toes in.

I’m off to South America in October for extended exploration and look forward to an ayahuasca experience, too.

How much value from your experience do you attribute to the extended stay and plant-based diet as opposed to just going for a week for ayahuasca without as much prep work?
