Does ANYBODY have a good work/travel balance?! I’ve yet to meet any location independent traveler who feels truly satisfied with their routines/balances all around. Takers, anyone??? 🙂

@Nora We so don’t have a good work/travel balance (see our latest post!) but we are working on it.

Sounds so wonderful great post.

We can definitely relate (and commiserate). It isn’t always easy on the road – transport is uncomfortable, hotels are booked, weather is lousy, and sleep is lacking.

Although this was a week off for you guys, there are sill things going on (like selling a house!) where a little connectivity certainly helps and can be quite frustrating when you expect a connection and nothing really works.

Travel does tend to have its up and downs, but thankfully it’s mostly “ups”! And thanks for the clarification on work; some people work as they go, while others stay in one spot to get lots of work done before traveling onwards and seeing the sights before settling down again for more work. It looks like you two have a good balance.

@Cam – Try it! In fact, I’d be delighted if you submitted a week-in-your-life to me! Feel free to contact me if you’re interested and I’ll send you some general guidelines.

It’s interesting to see the day and week progress, I can’t remember the last time I tracked my day – it seems like a fun exercise

Although we tried to be honest and say all the bad things that happened that week, it was actually a pretty good week! We loved Jardin and the Salento walk was a lot of fun despite the rain.

When we have been settled for a few months it takes a while to get used to hostels and bus rides again.

I should also note that it was a week off for us as we’d just had 2 months of intensive work. Usually there’s more work in there!
