Bill, Hello! I hope you get to JUST SHOW UP! We are having a wonderful trip–as for dinero–we worked for 3 years between our two years out and ate lots of bag lunches. Before the 1st year away, I created a new line of work and ran a summer camp. It was great. I never knew I would love it so much! As for retiring, I am going to read many of Nora’s GREAT posts!! You are right is it nothing like anything. Many people told us “You will Love it and you will HATE it.” I have to agree. There is so much to both love and hate. I am nearly ready to start writing about our three months there. Thanks for your comments! Lisa

Darlece, You are right the mishaps do make GREAT stories! We just did an 8 day trek to Poon Hill here in Nepal. It was fantastic but the one day on snow and ice was way more challenging than expected and makes for the BEST stories! Where are you now?
