I ended up spending a month in Chiang Mai in total, and I really loved the place. This was back in 2008….maybe it’s time for a return visit!

Krav Maga is bullshit. Doesn’t work. Just go to an MMA gym (or straight-up boxing). Krav Maga is the laughing stock of the martial art’s world. Realize this — if Hollywood is using it to “look cool” then it’s ineffective.

They are held pretty frequently, at the end of an alleyway of bars (filled with ladyboys) there is an ring. I remember a friendly English or Austrailan gentleman ran a bar there. That thai whiskey is pretty deadly. I remember asking for some on the rocks, the bartender looked all puzzled and asked if I was sure I didn’t want coke. 1 throat burning sip later I was back at the bar asking for coke!
