I plan to be there at least 3 days minimum and go exploring outside the city.

Hi Saira,
I’m sure you’ll love Berlin.
As for the Segway, I was really nervous it would be difficult, as were a bunch of my fellow tour participants, some of whom were absolutely convinced they wouldn’t be able to pick it up. But it’s really not that hard! Surprisingly easy! And a HUGE amount of fun!

If you’re looking for another company to meet locals and tour around with, I highly recommend WithLocals, with whom I had a few great experiences in Bali.

Here’s a review of my experiences with them: https://www.theprofessionalhobo.com/balinese-cooking-101-withlocals-vlog-ep-27/

Segway tour – sound promising. Though I haven’t ridden one yet. Is it difficult to do so? Can’t you like – fall over at some point if you’re reaaaally clumsy (like I consider myself to be)?
I have slightly more time in Berlin, but also quite crammed, so I’ll put my faith in the local person I have selected from this website – I have high expectations for them. I have used the service in my previous travels in Europe cities, so hopefully Berlin one won’t disappoint me. I’m referring to this site: http://www.showaround.com/locals/germany/berlin in case you’re wondering 🙂
I might still incorporate the Segway tour in my visit, If only I’ll be sure that I can stay on it without a fall (googling for Segway tours around my city right now!). Anyway – thanks for the great post!

Hi Marie,
Yes indeed – I think Berlin would be a cool place to hang your hat for a while.
Glad you’re enjoying my cheesy campy videos! I hope people are getting the whole tongue-in-cheekyness of it! 😉

Anna – I was nervous about said face-plowing as well….especially given that this was my first attempt at playing with traffic since my near-fatal accident earlier this year.
And there was an older woman on the tour as well who was really nervous about her Segway skills. But she and I both picked it up immediately, and it was an absolute blast.
Long live dorks! 😉

I like that you mention, aside all the positive things in Berlin (food! Sights!) political issues, like gentrification. I hope that I could show you the corners where this is the most visible, and having some good food on the way!
(BTW, sorry, If I can advertise for the tours here for a sec and add another description of the Berlin Urban Adventures Food Tour:

I didn’t realize that Berlin was the cheapest capital city in Europe. I “almost” got a house-sitting gig there for this month. I really have to get there before it becomes upscale!

I love the choice of music on your 1-minute videos by the way. 🙂

Lol, I dont mind being a dork on anything in any way; I DO mind plowing the pavement with my face. But I’ve seen old people stay on these things, so…
