Hi Berlin,
Ooh – you’re going to have an excellent time! I rode the Deccan Odyssey in India and it was incredible! (https://www.theprofessionalhobo.com/touring-indias-deccan-odyssey-most-luxurious-train-in-the-world/)

As for sleeping, indeed: if you’re a light sleeper, then having something to help you get a good night of rest might be a good idea. It all depends on the quality of the tracks (which changes all the time), the number of stops, etc.

Over the years, I’ve had some of my best – and worst – nights of sleep on trains!

I’m starting to get the feeling that we should also bring sleeping pills just in case.

My most dodgy experiences have of course been on Asian trains. That just gave me an idea: there’s a coffee table book on outhouses around the world….what about train toilets of the world? 😉

I haven’t logged quite as many miles as you have, but I’m working on it. I hope to keep it novel so I’ll enjoy it. Bathrooms on trains are another story…

It is very easy (and maybe it’s just me, but the prices quoted seemed lower than other sites).

I’m so envious of you all. I can’t wait to see pictures and read about the trip.
