Thanks very much for your kind words. Travelling by bike is definitely a great experience (well, most of the time when the weather is co-operating!) and if we can help anyone with advice or tips, just drop us a line. We are heading to Holland now so our door is open for any visitors, once we get a place to stay.

@Daniel – Tenacity indeed. I’m tenacious, but not with a bicycle! I’m uber-impressed with this huge feat of theirs. Kudos, Friedel & Andrew!

We took part in the Tour d’Afrique last year cycling from Cairo to Cape Town and the mileage and the days were just to long. 120km to 200km per day. It was a race though. It had it’s purpose, but there wasn’t any time to get to know the people or experience the countries that we passed through.
If I were to do it again, I would go the way that you are traveling. What an adventure you must be having!

Well done to Friedel and Andrew for covering so much ground!

And, well done for the stunning Photo in the Dogubayzit to Bazargan section!
