Hi Gregory,
Great questions! And much food for thought.
How do musicians deal with the fact that every tune has already been composed/played in one way or another? Luckily our memories are short, and personal style counts for a lot; heck – if the Gregorian chant can make a comeback, anything is possible!

There is a certain degree of playing to the current media landscape and its requirements. At the moment it seems the best way to get my content in front of others is through practices like SEO; the best way to keep those readers is with a personal style that resonates with them. (And an email newsletter – ha ha).

While the internet is a busy place, there’s something for everybody, and I try to keep this little corner of the online world fresh by continuing to live, learn, and grow myself.

How do you address the issue of saturation in the travel writing market? Seems like every subject/issue has been covered, though not as well-written as you, of course.
How do you deal with banner blindness and blocking, especially among the young?
How to deal with a travel writing landscape where photos, videos, and other social media immediate gratification becomes as important as text for the younger generation, especially?
How do you keep writing so prolifically and always making your subject seem fresh! lol. (Some things have to be a secret, I know.)
You don’t have to answer, because I would have to pay. lol
Cheers!

Hi Benson,
That’s a great question – to which I don’t have a great answer. Sorry!

I think there’s enough red tape with an idea like peer-to-peer shipping, and not enough supply/demand, that it’s not likely to ever reach the echelon of AirBnB or other social sharing sites.

Has the Airbnb of peer to peer shipping emerged yet? 🙂

Hi James,
I’ve not heard of that peer-to-peer shipping company. Have you tried out any of the other similar companies listed in this article?
And, how much money have you been able to earn doing this?

Recently my favorite way has been to use Glocalzone. I bring products for people who demand products from the places I visit and earn money on the commission. It has been an incredibly easy way to make money on the side while helping people out.

Thank you, Juan!
While writing is certainly a great option, I’m aware that it’s not the only one. And not everybody is tech-inspired either……hope you found something you could sink your teeth into in this article! 🙂

Hey Ryan,
Yep! Picking fruit is a super popular way for people to earn money while traveling through both NZ and Australia. “Hard yakka”, as they say Down Under, but good work. 🙂

Neat farm in NZ mention, work-wise. We house sat in Opotiki in New Zealand a few months back. All types of orchards just 2 minutes from the home. We saw fruit pickers abound. I know more than a few must have been working visa types picking kiwis and avocados and all the cool stuff grown back there.
